The Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC) recently celebrated that they are close to achieving record “room tax” revenues, over $114 million. Still, according to the island´s hotel industry leaders, the figure could be higher if the entity had addressed tax evasion by short-term rentals (STR).
