Born to parents from the Frontón neighborhood in Ciales, Billy Ocasio established his leadership in the Chicago neighborhood and served as an alderman, a position he held for 16 years. (Daniel Delgado)

Chicago – After leaving politics, Billy Ocasio has made the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture—which he helped found and has presided over for the past decade—an indispensable landmark of Chicago’s Puerto Rican neighborhood.
