Puerto Rico is facing a harsh reality. We shoulder a disproportionate distribution of environmental risks and impacts, with our low-income and poor communities bearing the brunt of the problem. This fact became evident after the severe atmospheric events of 2017, the earthquakes and aftershocks of 2020, and the inequitable support to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
