For Senator Rubio, his bill is “common sense: no company should be able to advise the island’s financial oversight and management board while actively advising the very clients who stand to monetarily profit from being granted large contracts from the government of Puerto Rico.” (CRISTOBAL HERRERA-ULASHKEVICH)

Washington, D.C. - Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Puerto Rico Resident Commissioner in Washington Jenniffer González proposed amending PROMESA to prohibit a firm advising the Oversight Board from also proving services to Puerto Rico’s elected government under the oversight of the Board.
